I want to play hockey! Where do I begin?
Daddy and Me (Ages 3-8)The Daddy and Me class teaches the basic skating skills that are needed to develop the necessary techniques to maneuver on the ice with a guardian alongside to help the child along. Students learn the proper way to fall and get up, balance on the ice, skate forward and backward, and glide and stop, preparing them for The Hockey Academy.
The Hockey Academy (Ages 5-14)THA introduces skaters to more advanced skating skills and introductory puck handling techniques. Players will participate in small area games and station based drills to help reinforce these techniques.
Practice and Play (Ages 5-14)
The Practice and Play class provides skills training in skating, balance, teamwork, and game concept with station based drills on Monday nights, and cross ice games on Friday nights. The program will prepare players for participation in house league.
Try Hockey for FREE!
Ice Valley Centre will be hosting a Try Hockey For Free event sponsored by USA Hockey from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
No skating experience is needed for this event. Ice Valley will provide
skates, gloves, sticks, and jerseys for the first 30 participants. Skaters are asked to bring a bicycle helmet (or something equivalent).

Daddy and Me
This program is designed to introduce children ages 3-8 with little or no skating experience to the fun and exciting game of hockey with
their parents in a group setting. Parents and children will be able to enjoy bonding time while learning the necessary basic skills needed
to play the game of hockey. This class will include 45 minutes of skill development and small area games used to make learning the
game of hockey fun for all involved. The required equipment for this class would be skates, stick, and helmet. Rental equipment is
available if needed.

The Hockey Academy
Does your child want to play the sport of Hockey, but not sure if they are fully ready? Come join the Hockey Academy which will
get you the necessary basic skills, but at a much faster pace than the ordinary hockey class. This training program will meet twice
a week and will cover skating technique, puck handling skills and game situations, so that you will be ready for the big game
at the end of the session! The required equipment for the class includes skates, stick and a certified helmet, which can be rented
at our facility.
